A Call to Prayer: Step Into the Blessing

It is impossible to ignore the miraculous nature of the State of Israel. David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister, stated, “In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.” For those with ‘eyes to see,’ it is also evident Israel is living in the unfolding Biblical prophecies.

Immediately following the announcement of the independence of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948, five Arab nations declared war on the fledgling state with 150 million Arab soldiers and much military might. By contrast, the just-launched Israel Defense Forces had 88,033 soldiers with little war arsenal. Yet, the war was won, and Israel was born in a day. Isaiah 66:8 says, “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.”

The Six-Day War of 1967 is another miraculous story of Divine intervention combined with stealth and brilliant strategy to gain the Golan Heights from Syria, the Sinai from Egypt, Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem’s Old City from Jordan’s occupation - all within six days. In Psalm 18, a Psalm of David, it states, “…The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold…He teaches my hands to make war.”

In 1869, Mark Twain described Palestine (Israel) as “a desolate country given over wholly to weeds.” Agriculturally speaking, technological innovation but also undeniable supernatural intervention has turned former desert, barren land into fertile soil, producing a wide variety of crops from oranges, grapes, and apples to herbs and melons. Isaiah 27:6 says, “Israel shall bloom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.” Israel is the only country to start the 21st century with a net gain in trees. In 1948 only 2% of Israel’s territory was forest, but now it is at least 8.5%. This reminds one of Isaiah 34:27, “The trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase.”

Israel is known as the “Innovation Nation.” In medical technology, Israel has invented devices such as Sniffphone - a device that can smell disease; Rewalk, a battery-pack ‘exoskeleton;’ PillCam, a swallowable medical camera; the Flexible Stent, a preventive heart technology, and more. Other Israeli inventions include the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, drip irrigation, the cell phone, Waze (navigation), Firewall, USB drive, Watergen (drinking water from the air), BioBee (harmless pest control), and much more. Outside of the USA, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ-listed companies. With over 3,000 high-tech companies and startups, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world outside of Silicon Valley, USA. It is second for space science discovery, scientific institutions rank third, and it produces more scientific papers than any other nation in the world per capita. Daniel 12:4 says, “…the time of the end…knowledge shall increase.”

All this is even more confounding when one realizes Israel has only been a nation for 75 years. Yes, in Judaism, there is the belief in tikkun olam, referring to performing various forms of action to repair and improve the world. Yet, what is it about Israel that causes this level of astounding productivity?

In Genesis 12:2-3, 7 (and more in Genesis 13, 15, 17) the Lord establishes the Abrahamic covenant, “I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you, and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed…To your descendants, I will give this land.” There is a blessing and culture of blessing on the Jewish people and on the land the Lord has chosen to give them. When we step into the story, we step into the same blessing.

How do we step into the story? Just like the Gentile Cornelius, through our prayers and giving. Acts 10:4 “Your prayers and your alms (giving) have come up for a memorial before God.”

The Lord is raising up the promise of Isaiah 62 to call an army of Watchmen on the Wall for Israel. He is also blessing those who pray. Psalm 122:6-7 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.”

Recently, I heard an American prophet state what many know, “When you start giving financially to organizations that bless Israel, you will start to see a financial increase.” I agree with that, have seen that personally and in the lives of a multitude of others. Many reading this can attest to giving to USIEA or JH Israel, who have found resulting unfolding blessings.

Yet, may the main reason we step into the supernatural story of Israel be due to a beckoning from the Heavenly Father inviting us into what He is doing in this pivotal time in human history.

It is the words of the Aaronic Blessing of Numbers 6 that they experience, and may we as well, “The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.” Step into the story, step into blessing.
